Professor Dr. Robert Winter, Ph.D, CAT, CSM

Professor Dr. Robert Winter, is currently Professor Emeritus at LR University in North Carolina (USA). Art Historian/Archaeologist and Art Therapist, up until 2012, he has been head of the Art Department and the Art Therapy programs at LR University.
He completed terminal degrees from Universities in France, Argentina, and the United States (Université Européenne of Paris, National University of Cordoba, (Argentina) and University of North Carolina (USA).
Dr. Winter has been guest lecturer and professor at the Universities of Georgetown and the Corcoran School (Washington DC), Finlandia (Michigan), University of North Carolina (Charlotte), Académie Française at Sorbonne University, Université Européenne of Paris (France) Palazzo Spinelli (Italy), Keramos Institute of Art (Palermo, Italy), Università dil Restauro in Gerace (Italy), University of Seville (Spain), University of Malaga (at the Neuropsychiatric Center of the Hospitalarian Sisters),Spain. He has directed multiple archaeological sites and presented several lectures, workshops and seminars on both, Art History/Archaeology and Art Therapy throughout the USA, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean: Cuba, Curaçao, and Aruba.
In 1995 the European University of Paris, France, awarded him an Honorary Doctorate for his work and research.
Dr. Winter still lectures part time at LR University and has his own practice as an Art Therapist in Hickory, NC.
Dr. Winter is also a consultant for Catawba County Mental Health Services, Adult Day Services for the Aging (Alzheimer’s Unit), Neuropsychological Ambulatory In Aruba, and works as a certified Stephen Minister Counselor in North Carolina.
In 2002, the French Academy at Sorbonne University, has appointed Dr. Winter sole liaison for the promotion and development of cultural programs between Sorbonne University (Paris, France), and American universities at large. Since 2001, he was honored by the Cultural Association of Paris, France, as correspondent to such association.
Dr. Winter is proficient in English, French, Italian and Spanish, with ability to communicate in German and Portuguese as well.
