Drs Melva Croes-Yánez
Drs. Melva Croes-Yánez is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology (all ages) in Aruba and the Caribbean.
In 1990 she earned her doctoral degree in Neuropsychology at the Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and is owner of the Neuropsychological Ambulatory Aruba (N.A.A.), a private practice in Aruba.
During her training in clinical neuropsychology and her career at the N.A.A. drs. Croes-Yánez was mentored by the late Prof. Dr. Harry van der Vlugt, a prominent researcher and pioneer on Lateralization of Brain Functions, which he pursued until his death in 2016.
As colleague and mentor the late Dr. van der Vlugt, was also instrumental in the development of neuropsychology in the Dutch West Indies, and in providing second opinion here on neuropsychological differential diagnostics in among others Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Epilepsy, etc., including (Neuro) cognitive decline / deficits and impairments, (all which can affect i.e. attention, memory, learning, language, perception, social cognition, and making decisions that affect everyday life).
